The harbour temple

The harbour temple is Stara Luka's Romanesque temple on the pjaca, and with its campanile (zvonik) the landmark of the town. Its proper name will come in the labeling pass.

Architecture

A single nave, 12.8 × 6.8 m clear (about 80 people standing), with a semicircular apse to the east.
A rose window in the west front; the west door faces the arriving road and the parvis, a south door opens onto the pjaca.
The only grey roof on the square: škrlje stone slabs.
Inside: the apse with a stone altar, a sacristy niche, benches, and votive ship models hanging from the tie beams, gifts from a seafaring town.
The apse faces east, toward the sunrise, as the old builders set it; the facade does not face the sea.
No cross and no saint imagery anywhere (the director's rule of 2026-09-29). The spire carries a plain stone finial. A single in-world faith symbol will be designed later (card FAITH-1).

The campanile

4 × 4 m, four stages, an open belfry, top at Y 27: the tallest thing in town.
The Velika kala, the pjaca cistern and the campanile lie on one axis, so the stair frames the tower.
It is visible from the pier head and mid-pier; its bell is part of the town's sound.
Ladders inside; not a party space.

People

The temple keeper lives in the narrow house on the pjaca and is met on the parvis on arrival. (He replaced the plan's earlier "priest" under the 2026-09-29 rule.)

Moments

The west front catches the sunset: the blue-hour moment of the square. Arriving from Smokovje, the campanile and the temple's west front close the view.

Name history

Earlier drafts gave the temple a saint's name. Since 2026-09-29 the docs call it only "the harbour temple".
