Stara Luka
Coast · style A. The island's port: fishing, salting, boat building, and the seat of the count. The first demo level. See Stara Luka.
Smokovje
Coast · style A. The farming hill village on the slope above the harbour. See Smokovje.
Pržina
Coast · style A. A poor fishing village of sardines, nets and small boats, at the gravel cove where the river meets the sea on the west coast. Its name is dialect for "gravel beach". Tamarisks and reeds at the mouth; the plainest style A: rubble walls, škrlje slab roofs, net lofts. Planned buildings include a fisher's house, a fisher's widow's house and a wooden footbridge over the river mouth.
Gradina / Castelliere
Transition · style C. A small garrison and toll post (8–12 buildings) holding the only road between coast and interior, on the ridge saddle in the bura gap, reusing a prehistoric ring wall. Its name is the Istrian bilingual term for a hillfort. Soldiers' families and post horses; planned barracks, an archery range, an armory and a stable. It is the one place where coast and interior meet, which is why it is built in the mixed style C.
Not to be confused with the lowercase gradina (the hillfort) on the Glavica.
Valponte
Interior · style B. The inland market town and the island's second town, where the road crosses the river on a multi-arch stone bridge in the interior basin. Grain, flax and wool, a livestock fair, and the seat of the landholding family. Its square has no sea view, so the interior feels like the interior.
Valponte old cemetery
Interior · style B. A burial ground of the town and the old families on a holm-oak and cypress knoll outside Valponte, in the valley fog. It stays in the island plan as a plain cemetery without a dungeon; the dungeon went to Stara Luka's Glavica.
